Apprenticeship Introduction

We employ apprentices in 3 areas: Customer Service, Administration and Motor Vehicle Maintenance. 

All apprentices complete a level 2 vocational qualification in their chosen area.

  • Customer Service Apprentices will ultimately work in sales, customer vehicle collection or in our customer service call centre. 
  • Administration Apprentices would work within the site office and at our Head Office and could develop into a role in the accounts team. 
  • Motor Vehicle Repair develops into a Pre Delivery Inspection Technician. 

As well as completing your VQ you will receive Motorpoint specific training and will have a mentor who will support you through your first year.

  • Complete a level 2 vocational qualification in business and administration.
  • Develop understanding of Motorpoints administration processes and procedures; their purpose and what area of the business they support.
  • Be able to follow and implement administration processes and procedures.
  • Take personal responsibility for adhering to Motorpoints processes and procedures and the quality of own work.
  • Develop exceptional communication skills to be able to explain the needs of our systems to others.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other departments maintaining a good team spirit.
  • Develop the IT skills including excel, word and outlook that enable work to be carried out effectively and efficiently.

Job Description Person Specification
  • Complete a level 2 vocational qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair principles.
  • Attend college for week long placements (except for Glasgow this will require travelling and overnight stays at Loughborough College near Derby).
  • Learn and develop the skills and understanding necessary to complete a Pre-Delivery Inspection of a vehicle correctly and efficiently.
  • Learn and develop the skills and understanding necessary to carry out vehicle servicing correctly and efficiently.
  • To be able to prepare a vehicle for customer collection that meets the Motorpoint Standards.
  • To develop a working knowledge of different makes and model of vehicle.
  • To be fully aware of and understand the Motorpoint Standards for vehicle preparation.
  • Understand how the pitch is laid out and how vehicles are moved and for what purpose.
  • To understand the checking in process and be able to check in a vehicle for the pitch to the Motorpoint Standard.
  • To learn how and be able to valet a vehicle to the Motorpoint Standard.
